Watercolor gets a reputation for being difficult, but that's usually because people are fighting the medium instead of working with it. This class is about learning to let go — we'll embrace happy accidents, work wet-on-wet, and paint three small studies that get progressively more expressive. You don't need to be able to draw. You just need to be willing to play.

  • Wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques
  • Color mixing and understanding pigment transparency
  • How to paint loose florals and landscapes
  • Using salt, plastic wrap, and other tools for texture
  • How to fix mistakes (and when to call them happy accidents)
